Over RD$3,200 million seized in corruption cases allocated to the State

Santo Domingo.- Attorney General Miriam Germán Brito formally handed over confiscated assets worth RD$3,242,886,258.32 million and US$1.42 million to the National Institute for the Custody and Administration of Seized Assets (Incabide). These assets, seized during corruption investigations, include 312 properties and high-value items such as luxury cars, jewelry, and real estate, marking a milestone in the fight against corruption.

Key assets transferred include 58 apartments, 18 houses, 238 vehicles, and RD$8.2 million in jewelry. Officials emphasized the assets will be repurposed for public benefit, in line with Law 60-23, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Minister of Finance José Manuel Vicente and Director General of Ethics Milagros Ortiz Bosch lauded the move as a step towards accountability and cultural change.

Incabide’s Director, Manuel Oviedo Estrada, highlighted the transformation of confiscated goods into social assets for the State. The Public Prosecutor’s Office reiterated its commitment to robust investigations and recovering public resources, positioning the Dominican Republic as a regional leader in asset recovery and governance reforms.
